How To Create An API-Key
Entrypage is designed as an ephemeral, developer-friendly Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution, built with an API-first approach. At its core, Entrypage organizes your identity infrastructure into domains. Think of a domain as an isolated realm where users, applications, logs, and settings are securely contained and managed.
This architecture makes it possible to create and configure domains entirely via our RESTful API. To interact with this API, you’ll need an API key.
Here’s what you should know about Entrypage API keys:
- Validity: API keys are valid for six months and expire automatically.
- Creation: API keys can be created within the Entrypage portal only.
- Subscription Association: API keys are linked to your subscription. This enables you to dynamically provision and manage environments on the fly, directly reflecting your subscription’s capabilities.
How to Create an API Key
To create your Entrypage API key, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Portal: Go to portal.entrypage.io and authenticate.
- Access Account Settings: Once logged in, click on your profile-picture-icon in the top right corner.
- Find the API Keys Tab: Clicking the account icon will reveal your account details in a pop-up. Within this pop-up, you’ll find a dedicated “API Keys” tab. This is where you can securely generate and manage your API keys.
*Note: For security reasons, API key values are only visible immediately upon creation. Their values will be masked or disappear once you navigate away or the screen refreshes. Be sure to copy and store your API key in a secure location right after it’s generated.
